Our Plans Winter 2013 – For the Teachers

Snow_Day

Happy chilly morning!

The snow is finally on the ground, and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while. No complaints from me. I’m one of those unusual individuals who likes the cold weather. A cup of hot coffee, a cozy blanket, two pairs of fuzzy socks and snow falling outside makes me a happy girl.

Even better if I could curl up with a good book, though it’s hard to make time for that these days.

There’s plenty of work to do, and we’re excited about some upcoming projects.

Ladder_ImageOur first goal this year is updating the curriculum ladders. We were so glad to get the Common Core-aligned primary math and primary reading ladders finished last fall, and now it’s time to update the rest. Our goal is to have them done by the end of February.

We’ll also be working on new lesson plans, something we’ve been needing (and wanting) to do for a while.

We’ve gotten a lot of requests for certain lesson plan topics. I love hearing from teachers about what they need, and we’ve gotten some great ideas particularly for math and reading. We’ve also got a project planned this spring focused on language arts and writing. There’s so much we want to do!

For today, I’ll be working, staying warm, and getting plans organized.

Enjoy your day!
