As a teacher, I always loved fall Inservice Days. It was always a great time to get new ideas – I knew my students, had a routine started, but still had the rest of the year to try new things, to make good ideas even better, to replace not so great ideas.
This year is different. It’s the first year I’ve been the parent of a student. Amazing how that changes perspective.
My kindergartner has the rest of this week off from school for inservice and parent/teacher conferences.
I’m celebrating by taking the days off with her. I’m very ready for some much needed kiddo time. And I’m doing something I haven’t done in years – leaving my laptop in my office.
Off to play for a couple days.
